The Oasis is a beachfront shopping, dining, and office precinct located at the corner of Victoria Avenue and Surf Parade in Broadbeach. It sits directly opposite Kurrawa Beach and anchors the Broadbeach Mall.
The Broadbeach Mall
runs along the length of The Oasis, from the beach through to Surf Parade. There are several dining options along the walkway and spots to relax.
The Oasis Shopping Centre has a long history, starting in 1989 and consisting of the Broadbeach Tavern, Pan Pacific Hotel, and the Broadbeach Shopping Mall. It was renovated in 2005, including refurbishing the public areas and restaurants.
The site itself began in the 1950s with the Lennon’s Hotel opening in 1957. In the 1960s, it became known as a dancing hotel with the first ever outdoor dance floor. The 1970s changed focus to live stage shows, including ice skating performances and Las Vegas style showgirls. It also became the home of the first Schoolies celebrations that the Gold Coast and Broadbeach are now well known for. The original hotel was demolished to make way for the new Oasis Shopping Centre.
