Stretching for five kilometres, Airforce Beach to the north of Evans Head Main Beach, is a beautiful coastal beach suitable for fishing, walking, horse riding, and swimming. A large section of beach is also an off-leash dog beach, nearly 1.5 kilometres long.
4WD access to the beach is allowed to the north of the council boundary, accessed via Terrace Street. Vehicles must stay below the high tide mark, so only drive on the beach during low tide. Stopping is prohibited in Pied Oster Catcher nesting sites as signposted during breeding season (August/March).
