Bilinga Beach is one of the quietest beaches along the Gold Coast ocean beach strip. It avoids the normal tourist crowds by being less accessible and away from any nearby shops.
There is plenty of beach that is also quieter than the popular spots, however, Bilinga Beach is a patrolled beach with a surf lifesaving club right behind it. It isn’t patrolled all year round though, only on weekends between September and April from 8am to 5pm. During Queensland school holidays, the beach is patrolled every day, not just weekends.
Bilinga Beach has a north facing orientation, so it has smaller surf conditions than some of the other beaches, making it safer for families and a great place to swim without large breaking waves.
Parking isn’t ideal for Bilinga but it isn’t prohibitive. You need to park in the small parking area at the life saving club, on the street out front of the surf life saving club and walk through the club, or park on a street off the side of the beach and walk up to it. The location for this destination has been set to Matters St, which is the closest to walk to the beach from.
Toilets are available at the surf lifesaving club, as well as outdoor showers and some picnic tables and free BBQs.
