Queens Beach North is a beautiful sandy beach and picnic area on Moreton Bay at the Redcliffe Peninsular.
It is one of three beaches that share the Queens Beach name and is the better of the three. The other beaches to the south are Queens Beach
and Queens Beach South
.
The sandy beach itself is certainly better than the exposed rock base that is particularly part of Queens Beach South
. What mostly sets Queens Beach North apart from the others is the facilities available and plenty of parking.
There are a few sheltered picnic tables immediately next to parking and free BBQs. Further, there is no need to leave when nature calls with a toilet block available as well.
At the bottom end of Queens Beach North is a boat ramp to launch your boat. And next to the ramp is a fish cleaning bench for the bountiful catch you bring back with you.

As with the other beaches, the foreshore pathway runs along the beach and is popular with runners, walkers, and bike riders. The walk north to Scarborough Beach takes you along the red cliffs with great views across Moreton Bay. There are some dirt paths under the cliffs as well where you can see the red colours the peninsula gets its name from, however, be careful as the cliffs are crumbly and can break away. The walk south will take you to Redcliffe Jetty
.
Queens Beach North was part of a trial as an off-leash dog beach. The signs are still on display with the trial finishing a while ago. It was extended until March 2019 for 24-hour off-leash access, previously it was for restricted hours.
Off-leash is only on the beach itself so dogs are to be on a leash if on the pathway or picnic areas. There is no further information beyond this, however, my understanding is that it is to be permanent, waiting for updated signs to be installed.
