Located in Atherton, the Big Leaf sits outside the front of the Tableland Regional Gallery and the Gordon Kattenberg Memorial Gardens.
The leaf stands upright from the base of the leaf to the tip. On one edge it has the Tableland Regional Gallery written down the side of it. On the other side of the leaf in smaller writing is Gordon Kattenberg Memorial Gardens.
The logo of the gallery is in the shape of a leaf but is more symbolic than the big leaf sitting out the front. There isn’t a lot of information about Gordon Kattenberg that I could find. I found he served in the Australian Army during WW2 and he was mentioned in a newspaper article as part of the committee for the Atherton Show Society
