The Big Beer Can has a Tooheys New design, and is located above the entrance to the Grand Hotel.
It was created in 1990, and measures 5 metres in height and 2.5 metres in width.
The Grand Hotel is closed but the Big Beer Can still sits on top, at least it did in 2025. The council has bought the property and plans to use it as part of its vision to upgrade the main street of Cobar 
.
In 2026, a new Big Beer Can appeared in Kotara Newcastle 
, claiming the biggest of big beer cans.
