Travel south of Surfers Paradise along the Gold Coast Highway through Mermaid Beach and you won’t miss the Big Yellow Golf Ball at the front of a popular putt putt golf location.
The Big Golf Ball promotes Putt Putt Mermaid Beach three putt putt course themes, Fun Run, Jungle Trail, and Waterways. Fun Run is filled with whimsical characters and motorised obstacles. Jungle Trail focuses on animals and tribal settings. Waterways has plenty of water but don’t worry, no water traps to lose your golf balls in.
While you normally can’t miss the Big Golf Ball driving passed, I did miss it in May 2025 because it wasn’t there for a while. Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred knocked over the smiling yellow golf ball so it wasn’t to be seen. It was around the back waiting for repairs to be put back to its normal position. Checking with Google Street View, the Big Gold Ball has been restored and located at the front again.
