The Big Kookaburra is located in Rotary Park in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales. The Kookaburra is used as a logo for several Kurri Kurri sporting and community organisations, so the Big Kookaburra was selected as a project by Kurri Kurri Tidy Towns.
The sculpture built in 2009 is by Chris Fussell. It stands 4.5 metres tall, with the structure being made of aluminium and steel scrap from scrap yards around the region.
The area around the Rotary Park is surrounded by murals, including the toilet block in the park and various buildings on the surrounding streets.
