The Big Red Elephant stands for seemingly no reason. Modelled after a big animal, is it really a big thing? Some big things are closer to normal size but like this big red elephant, it was still created as a marketing attraction and used for big thing selfie photography.
It was first created for Jumbo’s Fruit Mart, possibly sometime in the 1990s. Jumbo’s Fruit Mart closed many years ago, before 2010, however, the barn has been used by other businesses afterwards, including Jumbo’s Kids Play Centre, and more recently Red Elephant Garden Centre. These too have since closed.
