The island is accessed from one of two bridges, either from the southern end of Swan Hill or just east of Lake Boga via Fish Point Rd. Loddon Floodway is on a side road, Caelli Lane, between the bridges.

Fishing in the Murray River is permitted, but the river is considered a NSW waterway. Even though while fishing from the banks in Victoria, a NSW fishing license is required. You can get a fishing permit online from the NSW Department of Primary Industries
. A dirt boat ramp is at the camping ground where you can launch small boats.
The campground is free and is not serviced. There are no toilets or bins, so you need to look after this yourself. Keeping the area clean helps to keep free camping areas like this open. There is no water either, other than from the river.
