Nestled in the heart of Queensland’s Granite Belt wine region, the Granite Belt Christmas Farm is a festive destination that brings the magic of Christmas to life all year round.
We first noticed the brown sign in 2023, very late in December – after Christmas Day. In 2025, we had an opportunity to call by during September, with a local in Deepwater reminding us of it and recommended going.
Christmas Farm doesn’t characterise it accurately, more like a Christmas Village. Entering the drive, there are Christmas trees growing either side, passing signs with the names of the reindeer that pulls Santa’s sleigh. From the parking area, the entrance is through a framed entry with a large sign “Welcome to Christmas Village”, confirming the nature of the Granite Belt Christmas Farm.
Next to the entrance are some donkeys and reindeer grazing on the grass. The donkeys are friendly but were not interested in coming over to us, possibly because we didn’t have food, which can be purchased to give to the animals. We then witnessed an adorable event. A small girl, perhaps three, quietly called out to one of the donkeys if he’d mind coming over to her. He did, and she progressed to ask his permission to pat him, and he lowered his head. He didn’t come over when our teen boys and I called.
A turkey was parading within its enclosure, tail features ruffled on display and making a noise that I hadn’t really noticed before. It looked like it was scrapping some of its feathers on the ground, causing them to vibrate and make a noise.
Beyond the animals, there are three stores filled with Christmas decorations and Christmas themed everything – Decorator’s Barn, Mistletoe Store, and Silver Bells.

The Mistletoe Store is located in Mrs Claus Cafe, where you can part of the cafe, where you can purchase a simple lunch, cake, and cafe drinks, such as coffees and milkshakes. There is also the Rudolph’s Ice Cream Bar with a selection of ice cream from the Maleny Food Co Gelato.
For the full Christmas experience, November and December are the months to schedule your visit. November is when the Christmas tree harvesting begins, and additional Christmas activities are happening.
