Theebine Hotel is the original building built 1909, although it was originally known as the Kilkivan/Theebine Junction Hotel.

Theebine is a small railway station town north of Gympie along the North Coast railway line. The old Kingaroy/Nanango railway line branched at Theebine with the Dickabram railway station just before the Dickabram Bridge crosses over the Mary River.

Free camping is available behind the pub without power. For a small fee you can have power supplied for the campsite as well.

It was the first of two country pubs we discovered by following the brown signs to them. On our return home we stopped at the Hideaway Station Hotel in Tiaro , another great country pub for a meal and drink but no camping.

Directions

From Tiaro head south on the Bruce Hwy for about 31km and turn right at Balkin St at the brown sign for Theebine Hotel. There is a larger brown sign for Windsong Tea Gardens at the same intersection. Signage is not great from here. Follow Balkin St for 400m and veer right onto Adrian Ln, then turn right onto Scrub Rd. Follow Scrub Rd for 6km with several bends along the way. Cross over the railway line and immediately turn right into Theebine Rd at another brown sign for Theebine Hotel. Follow Theebine Rd for 750m to reach the Theebine Hotel on the left.

From Gympie head north on the Bruce Hwy, after passing the brown sign for Great Bunya Tourist Drive, continue for about 16km and turn left at Balkin St at the brown sign for Theebine Hotel. There is a larger brown sign for Windsong Tea Gardens at the same intersection. Signage is not great from here. Follow Balkin St for 400m and veer right onto Adrian Ln, then turn right onto Scrub Rd. Follow Scrub Rd for 6km with several bends along the way. Cross over the railway line and immediately turn right into Theebine Rd at another brown sign for Theebine Hotel. Follow Theebine Rd for 750m to reach the Theebine Hotel on the left.

Alternatively, from the Big Coffee Cup, follow Queen St to the top where the rest area park is. Turn right on Balkin St, then the first left onto King St. Follow King St for 2km, becoming Miva Rd. At a junction, veer to the right to remain on Miva Rd and continue for another 4.4km. Turn right into Scrub Rd and follow for 1.1km and turn left into Theebine Rd before crossing over the railway line with a brown sign for Theebine Hotel. Follow Theebine Rd for 750m to reach the Theebine Hotel on the left.
