Carr’s Lookout is along The Falls Drive on Spring Creek Road, between Queen Mary Falls
and Teviot Falls
. The lookout is from a wooden platform, with a boardwalk leading to it from an area off the road for parking. Some lookouts have trees growing taller and blocking the views, which is happening at Teviot Falls lookout. The platform gives clear view with little to obstruct the views.
The opening up of the road past this area was achieved by Reg Carr, a former chairman in the Glengallan Shire whom Carrs Lookout is named after, and engineer Dick Philip.
The views show a number of known mountain peaks throughout the Scenic Rim region. In the main photo, the peak in the centre is Wilsons Peak. To the right, there are three peaks in the distance, Mt Tamborine, Mt Maroon, and Mt Barney. To the left of Wilsons Peak, Mt Bell can be seen in the distance and Mt Superbus on the left.
Closer to the lookout are the farming plains. The river snaking its way through the plains is the headwaters of the Condamine River.
