Developed as a bicentennial project, Mount Wooroolin Lookout is just over 4km west of Kingaroy, with amazing views over the town and surrounding area the main feature. It has a grassed picnic area, with sheltered picnic tables, and free BBQs. The only part that makes it unsuitable for a longer stop is there are no toilets.

The lookout itself is from an elevated hill offering panoramic views of the area, but some of the views can be seen without going up. The ramp is steep up to the elevated hill, clearing the view of some of the vegetation.

The drive up the sealed road to the lookout is very steep and narrow. After turning into the road up to the lookout, there is an advisory sign it is not suitable for trucks, busses, caravans, and trailers. There is a turning point on the left for caravans and trailers, from which a walking trail leads up to the lookout, or use space to unhitch for the drive to the top.
In 2025, we went up with a couple of light camper trailers without a problem but parking can still be a problem if there are a few vehicles already up there. We had plenty of space to park without blocking any other parking spaces. A small hybrid camper was heavy enough to stress the vehicle, so I’d recommend considering to unhitch at the turning point or go up while not towing.
The walking trail is in the nature reserve that the lookout is in, with a eucalyptus woodland and dry vine forest. There is no signage for the walking trail, and really only noticeable by the top of the stairs at the top of the walk where it finishes near the junction of the loop at the lookout. The walk has two main trails, both accessed from the same entry point at the turning point at the bottom, splitting a short way in.

The right walking trail is denser, darker, and steeper with stairs for most of the climbing sections. It is the shorter trail, but this means it climbs quicker. Luckily it has rest points with a bench to sit and have a breather along the way.
The left trail is more open, allowing more sun to get through. Much of it is flat and is a longer walk than the other trail. Towards the end, it becomes quite steep, without any stairs until it joins up with the other trail.
Where the two trails meet at the top, there is a final flight of stairs that come out on the road leading to the lookout. Walk straight across and up the side road to arrive at the park of the lookout.
There is a trail between the two trails part way along. The entrance to this along the left trail is not clear as it is quite covered with foliage but is easily seen along the right trail.
