The Scenic Lookout is on the highway south of Toowoomba in the Darling Downs area. It is a simple rest step with simple facilities, basically a spot to stop with rubbish bins and a view over the farming land. The panoramic view stretches across the valley and is supposedly a great spot for sunset and sunrise.
A picnic table or two would be a great addition to make it a more worthwhile stop, but it does give you the opportunity to have a break and stretch the legs with a view. If you want somewhere it sit, then you may be better off going to the Lions Park, around 5 kilometres north on the highway, unfortunately, no brown sign. Another alternative is to head to the Historic Inn in Cambooya
, which is around 11km south-west and a brown sign. It also has a park opposite it with picnic tables.
