Bill Wilkin Reserve is one of a number of parks along the Hervey Bay foreshore with access to the Torquay Jetty.
The park is beside the Hervey Bay Sailing Club where most of the parking is available. On the same side (west) of the club, you will find public toilets, sheltered picnic tables, and free BBQs for use.

The other side of the club has more picnic tables and BBQs, and the addition of a playground and direct access to the jetty.
The beach is right there too, a quick hop down the steps and you are on the sand. The beach is calm and inviting. The Fraser Coast Beachfront Tourist Park is next to it with its own access to the beach.

Dogs are allowed at the park but are not permitted on the beach or the jetty.
The reserve is named after Bill Wilkin and was actively involved in community and charitable work until 1974. He was one of three who formed the Hervey Bay Sea Scouts, located between the Fraser Coast Beachfront Tourist Park and Ron Beaton Memorial Park
.
Bill Wilkin passed away in 2010, aged 101, having lived are Hervey Bay since 1950.
