Round Waterhole, or Round Water Hole, is a free camp rest area next to a water hole, around 4 kilometres north from the highway at Chinchilla.
The rest area is simple with a single sheltered picnic table, rubbish bin, and space for parking. The symbol shows a caravan and no other type of stay, but I can’t find anything that prohibits camping or a camper trailer. With no toilets, this is a consideration, and you should be self-sufficient.
The waterhole is a drawcard for wildlife and is a bird watching location, along with other nearby locations including Old Man Lagoon, Archer’s Crossing, and Chinaman’s Lagoon.
