Within Yarraman State Forest is Rogers Park, in memory of Lewis John Rogers who lived there with his family from 1934 to 1946. He was the District Forester in Yarraman between 1930 and 1946 and later becoming the Deputy Conservator of Forest from 1964 to 1969.
The park is simple with a sheltered picnic table and a couple of unsheltered tables. There are some Jacaranda trees that were in bloom when we were there, displaying colour in the trees and a blanket of purple on the ground underneath them.
Access is along a dirt road but it was in good condition and suitable for most vehicles. There were a couple of cars that came through while we were there. We had a drive around the state forest afterwards. Most of the roads are also in good condition but some are notably for 4wd vehicles only, although not difficult to drive on.
