Apple Tree Park is part of Springbrook. The park is fairly protected with shade and has some good facilities to stop for a picnic lunch or a late afternoon nibblies on your way back out from a day at Springbrook.
Apple Tree Park is not the first brown sign destination at Springbrook, but it is the first with toilets, BBQs and picnic tables.
Apple Tree Park is an access point along the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk. Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk is a 54km trek starts from the Settlement Campground at Purlingbrook Falls 
, going through Apple Tree Park, across to Numinbah on the Nerang Murwillumbah Rd, cut through to Binna Burra, then south to the border before heading west following the border until finally cutting across to O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat.
I haven’t walked this trail, it is a bit beyond my current walking fitness. I would walk between Apple Tree Park and The Settlement campground, or walk to the Woonoongoora walkers camp and back in the other direction. I didn’t on this occasion but will consider it for another day.
