Ellinjaa Falls is the third waterfall on the Waterfalls Circuit, following Millaa Millaa Falls
and Zillie Falls
. It is different to other falls, cascading down the rock face instead of a single plunge. The rocks form a ledge with a recessed section behind it that you can sit and take in the view from behind the water.
The area at the bottom of the waterfall is fairly small, although the water pool is suitable for a swim. Apparently, platypus and turtles can be found there but we didn’t see any and it seems unlikely to find a platypus where people swim.
Access to Ellinjaa Falls requires a walk down a sealed path to the base of the falls, around 200 metres from the parking area to the bottom. While not as easy as Millaa Millaa Falls, which has access directly at the falls, Ellinjaa Falls is far easier to walk down to compared to Zillie Falls.
