Kirar Weir is on the Burnett River eight kilometres from Eidsvold. The weir was built in 2005 with the name Kirar given by the local aboriginal group Wakka Wakka meaning ‘creek’.
The park is next to the weir to enjoy the area and has toilets with flushing toilets, a sheltered and an unsheltered picnic table, wood BBQ, and bins.
A boat ramp at the far end of the park allows for taking boats to the water by foot, but is closed for access with trailers.
Fishing is permitted in the river but not within 100m upstream and 200m downstream of the weir. This is to protect from overfishing where fish mass near a barrier.
Camping is not permitted at Kirar Weir, although it may have been in the past so you may find some websites mention camping there.
