The Open Air Cathedral overlooks the Corndale Vally with views to the Nightcap National Park. It is a popular outdoor wedding spot, as well as a great place to sit quietly and enjoy the view.
Located at Inspiration Point, Bexhill, the open air cathedral was established by the Bexhill Christian Youth Fellowship. A sign dedicates the Open Air Cathedral to the glory of God and the use of all people as a place of Christian worship on Palm Sunday 1958. It is now maintained by the people of the nearby church of the good shepherds as an outreach of the uniting church into the community and refurbished in 2004.
An arch frames a path to a cross with log seating either side, with the view behind the cross. From the arch, a sign is suspended with the following words:
Enter the temple beautiful, the house not made with hands.
Rainwashed and green, windswept and clean
Beneath the blue it stands
And no Cathedral anywhere
Seemeth so lovely and so fair
The view didn’t have the grandeur I was expecting, however, it is a short detour (300 metres) from Bangalow-Lismore Road. I wouldn’t going especially to see Open Air Cathedral but if I was already following Tourist Drive 24, or coming back from Minyon Falls 
via Bexhill like we were on the day, it is worth popping in to have a look.
