The Coastal Tourist Drive take you through ocean vistas, lookouts, and ocean headlands.
Can be joined with Bangalow Lismore Woodburn Tourist Drive 28.
Start of Tourist Drive
If heading north, take the Tuckombil Road for Woodburn Coraki Casino exit, with brown sign symbols for Tourist Route 24 and 26. At the roundabout, head straight to continue onto Tuckombil Rd, again showing the brown sign symbols for Tourist Route 24 and 26.
If heading south, take the Tuckombil Road for Woodburn Coraki Casino exit. At the roundabout, head right to Tuckombil Road to cross over the highway. At the next roundabout, head right onto Tuckombil Rd, again showing the brown sign symbols for Tourist Route 24 and 26.
Continue on Tourist Drive
There is no clear start to the tourist drive but follow Tuckombil Rd to Woodburn, around 3.5 kilometres to Woodburn Riverside Park.
Woodburn Riverside Park
The park along the Richmond River in Woodburn has sheltered picnic tables, playground, and BBQs. It is next to the Woodburn Visitor Information Centre, a great spot to get last-minute information before the drive.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Continue on River St, around 400 metres from the bridge and visitor information centre, and turn right into Alfred St with a brown sign for Evans Head 200 metres before it. Follow Alfred St, which becomes Woodburn Evans Heads Road, for 8.6km to a roundabout.
F-111 Museum (Heritage Aviation Museum)
To visit the Evans Head Heritage Aviation Museum, turn left into Currajong St at the blue sign for F-111 Museum. Follow Currajong St for 450m and turn left into Memorial Airport Dr, and the museum will be on the left in 600m.
The museum contains exhibits, preserved aircraft, and interactive displays, exploring the stories and achievements that shaped our national military heritage.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Returning to the roundabout, continue on Woodburn Evans Head Road for 750m to another roundabout where you can see the Fairey Battle Plane

Continue on Tourist Drive
Continue on Woodburn Street for 900 metres to the next roundabout. Read to the right, following a blue sign for Lookout. Continue on Elm Street, which becomes Ocean Drive, for around 1.7 kilometres to reach the ramp down into Shark Bay.
Shark Bay
Shark Bay is a small, semi-secluded beach next to the southern break wall of the Evans River. It is very popular with board riders and families with small children. It has two rotundas for sheltered picnic tables and BBQs, and toilets.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Return to Ocean Drive and turn left, following for 300 metres to reach the entry to Razorback Lookout on the left.
Razorback Lookout
If you want the best view of Evans Head from the breakwater north, Razorback Lookout
is where you need to go.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Continue on Ocean Drive and turn right at the end onto Wirraway Avenue. Follow Wirraway Avenue to the end, where you can turn left onto Chinamans Beach Road to go to Chinamens Beach, or right to continue on the tourist drive.
Chinamens Beach
Chinamens Beach is located in the Dirawong Reserve, a 300-hectare sanctuary on the south side of Evans River.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Return by going back along Chinamans Beach Road, follow to the end (passing Wirraway Avenue). At the end, turn left onto Ocean Drive and follow for 1.2 kilometres to the roundabout. Head straight into Oak Lane and follow to the end. Turn right into Oak St which becomes Park Street. To go to the museum or visitor information centre, turn immediately to the right into Kirland Court and follow it to the end to the parking area.
Museum
Visit the Evans Head Living Museum
, for local history on WWII, Fishing and Prawning, and more. The museum is accessed from the same parking area as Evan Heads Visitor Information Centre, walk passed the centre to get to the museum.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Return to Park Street and turn right. Follow Park Street 400 metres and turn right into Beech Street. Follow Beech Street 200 metres. Head straight to go to Surfing Beach (Main Beach, surf club, and breakwater). Or turn left to follow Beech Street.

Continue on Tourist Drive
Head out from the parking area and immediately turn right into Beech Street. In 100 metres at the give way sign, continue straight on Beech Street to the roundabout and head straight through onto Flame Street. After 100 metres, turn right into Pine Lane to go to Airforce Beach, or continue straight for the tourist drive.
Airforce Beach
Follow Pine Lane to the end, and turn left, then immediately right to enter Airforce Beach
. Airforce Beach is north of Evan Heads’ Main Beach. It has 4WD access and is an off-leash dog beach.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Return to Flame Street and turn right. Follow Flame Street, which becomes Broadwater Evans Head Road, for 9.4 kilometres to reach the turnoff for Broadwater National Park.
Broadwater National Park
From Broadwater Evans Head Road, follow Broadwater Beach Road for approximately 1.9 kilometres. There are three options from here to view Broadwater National Park. Head left for day use area, straight ahead to walk up the sandblow, or head right to the lookout.
Continue on Tourist Drive
Return to Broadwater Evans Head Road and turn right. Continue for 1.8 kilometres to reach the township of Broadwater.
