Woodenbong Visitor Information is at one of the service stations in the main part of town.
There is information available of the points of interest around the region with brochures and maps.
Next to the service station is a small park with information and public toilets. The lane between them leads to a playground, sheltered picnic tables, bins, and a free bbq.

Woodenbong is know for the Yowie sightings since the 1890’s. Two sightings in the 1970s managed to attract media speculation and scientific teams to investigate them.

The most recent sighting claimed was in 2001 with two women seeing what appeared to be a six foot tall ape-like creature covered in hair.
There is a cut-out of the Yowie that you can stand behind for your own photos. You may not see it yourself but you can show your friends how you look if you were a Yowie.
