The Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail is a shared-use path re-used from abandoned railway corridor, officially opened at Kilkivan in September 2017. The trail allows walking and bike riding. Horse riding is only allowed between Kilkivan and Murgon.
The trail is based on the Kingaroy to Theebine railway, used for agriculture and commercial freight, and passengers. The railway was officially closed in 2010, and the rail trail was commenced in 2016. Starting from Kilkivan where the Kilkivan train station used to be, the trail leads through Goomeri, Murgon, Wondai, Tingoora, Wooroolin, Memerambi, Crawford, and finally Kingaroy, a total of 88kms.

Taking supplies with you is important, especially water as outside of the towns it is not available, and not all towns have readily available water.
