Laidley Pioneer Village and Museum was established in 1972, it is Queensland’s first heritage village style museums.
Get the feel of rural life from the early 1800’s in Queensland. The Laidley District Historical Society have developed a village complex with a good insight into what life was like. Laidley was the first stop by coach on the Cobb & Co route following the first stage of Queensland’s main rail line terminating at Grandchester station .
The village has a number of buildings that have been restored, including the Des Jardins Cottage, butchers shop, old gaol, general store and Post Office. There is also a fully furnished slab hut. There is a collection of machinery and agricultural tools.
