Lake Perseverance Active Recreation Centre is operated by the Queensland Government Department of Justice and Attorney General, to provide youth-oriented adventure-based learning activities.
The centre is not open for casual visitation, with group bookings required. See the Lake Perseverance destination for general tourist visiting of Lake Perseverance, or Lake Cressbrook
which is a few kilometres towards Esk which has camping.
The centre is available to be booked by groups, such as schools, social groups, and other groups for participating in physical activities, whether it is for team building or making a memorable experience for the group.
There are 10 chalet style cabins to accommodate the group, including separate leader cabins, catering for up to 132 people at a time.
Catering can be organised through local contract caterers, or catering can be organised by the group.
A range of activities include abseiling, archery, baseball, basketball, bushwalking, canoeing and kayaking, cricket, earthball, netball, orienteering, tennis and table tennis, and volleyball. Some activities have to be arranged prior.
Enquiries can be made by phoning (07) 4697 8900. Groups need to make bookings to ensure availability doesn’t clash with other groups, or while the centre is being used for youth justice programs.
* This destination was attended on a Sunday, and the camp manager was not at the office at the time.
