Canyon Lookout is in Springbrook, only a few metres from the parking area. It has views across the canyon, and down the valley through to the Gold Coast in the distance.
Rainbow Falls can be seen on the other side of the canyon, falling from the rock cliffs opposite the Canyon Lookout.
The Twin Falls can be seen from the lookout, but they are fairly obscured by trees, and not the best angle to view them from.
The Twin Falls circuit can be started from the Canyon Lookout, or from the Tallanbana Picnic Area
, with both being on the same circuit walk. If you want to walk down to the falls and come back the same way for a shorter walk, then starting from Tallanbana Picnic Area
may be a better choice.
It is a grade 3 walk with narrow tracks near steep cliffs. It is a popular walk, which leads you behind two waterfalls. The full circuit takes you passed Blackfellow Falls as well.
Near Blackfellow Falls is a junction to walk the 17km Warrie circuit. You could walk part of this to go to the Poondahra Falls then return back to the Twin Falls circuit.
Across the road from the lookout is Rosellas Cafe, open on weekends from 8.30am to 3pm, as well as Friday and Monday from 10am to 2pm.
To get there:
From the Springbrook Mountain Visitor Centre, continue south on Springbrook Rd for for 7.9km, and turn left into Boy Ull Rd with the brown sign for Canyon Lookout. Canyon Lookout is 230m on the right.
