Hardys Lookout is a small lookout along Springbrook Rd, looking to the west over the farmland. The lookout has a lot of trees obstructing the view, so only a narrow view is seen. Being right at the road it is worth stopping for a look if you haven’t before.
A monument is at Hardys Lookout commemorating the pioneers of Springbrook in 1906. The pioneers where known as the Springbrook Group. James Hardy is one of the pioneers in the group.
There isn’t much else there, other than a couple of bench seats to admire the view from.
To get there:
From the Springbrook Mountain Visitor Centre, continue south on Springbrook Rd for 6.4km, and Hardys Lookout will be on the right, although you will need to drive further on to turn around, and approach it from the other direction. Old School Rd is on the left 250m further on, or the better option is Repeater Station Rd on the right 750m further on.
