What do you do with an old piece of road after it has been bypassed with a newer, faster road? You stick a brown sign for a scenic lookout and never maintain it ever again. At least that is how it appears to have been done at this “scenic” lookout.
I tend to stay clear of creating a review of brown sign destinations, more providing information of what is there. What is great and interesting for one person is terrible and disappointing to another, and vice-versa. In this case, it has been left to go to ruins for a long time. There is a monument stone that must have had some information about the lookout, or at least when it was opened, but the plaque is missing.
There is no scenic part of the lookout, long overgrown to block any views of what there may have once been. The feature photo is a narrow glimpse through a gap where power lines are located.
If you really want to visit to say you have been then it is worth the stop, otherwise, it is one to skip and miss nothing. If it had some picnic tables and something else to make it a place to have a break, it would at least be somewhere to stop as an alternative to busier locations in Gosford.
Maybe, someone will stop and find it has received some TLC and can once again be considered a scenic lookout. If you do, be sure to leave a review.
